Welgemeend Concert Series and Welgemeend Art Month, hosted by Strauss & Co, are excited to welcome the husband-and-wife pianist duo, Best of Both. They will perform a dazzling selection of duets, arrangements, and transcriptions on Wednesday the 30th of August. Their program consists of some of the greatest duets from the piano repertoire, as well as other beloved, beautiful, and exciting pieces reimagined by talented arrangers, such as Greg Anderson. This concert will be an experience of an intimate communication of chamber music combined with the excitement and virtuosic flare of the piano solo recital.
Yohan Chun and Francois Botha are both past winners of the Fine Music Radio Bursary competition and have been collaborating for more than a decade. They regularly perform together in festivals such as the National Arts Festival and Woordfees in addition to their appearances as soloists and with groups such as the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Cape Town Opera. They are also active in the jazz and popular music industry, and they love to inject their diverse experience and interests from their gigs in show businesses into their more artistic endeavors.
The concert takes place at 19:30 and tickets are R200, which include drinks on arrival and a lovely reception after the concert.
